Alan's changing role: update

Alan Watson Featherstone, founder of Trees for Life, stepped down from his paid staff role at Trees for Life in October 2017. We issued a statement at the time about the change.

More recently, Alan has also stepped down from his Trustee role on the 20th February 2018.

Two years ago, our Board of Directors recruited a Chief Executive Officer, Steve Micklewright, to take the charity forward. Alan supported Steve during a period of transition as Steve picked up the management responsibility for the charity. Once the transition period was complete, Alan agreed with the Board that his paid role had diminished to part-time. After further consultation, Alan was offered a part-time role to act as an inspiring ambassador for the charity. Regrettably Alan chose to take full redundancy instead of taking the ambassadorial role.

All the staff and Board remain fully committed to achieving Alan’s inspiring vision to save the Caledonian Forest and the wildlife which depends upon it. We wish Alan very well on his new adventures.
